PROBLEM

The Recovery Plateau

Mental health, addiction, and chronic disease management have made remarkable advances. Many patients receive excellent psychological support, behavioural interventions, and pharmacotherapy. For a significant proportion, these approaches work well. But for approximately 30% of patients, progress stalls—not because care is inadequate, but because the physiological foundation for recovery has been compromised. Sleep disruption, chronic stress, metabolic dysfunction, and tissue hypoxia create conditions where the brain and body cannot fully engage with treatment, no matter how evidence-based that treatment may be. This is the recovery plateau.

SOLUTION

Engineered Recovery

Baro Place provides structured hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to support patients whose recovery has stalled. We use evidence-based monitoring to identify sleep and oxygenation barriers, then provide targeted HBOT to restore capacity. Our methods are: 1. Adjunctive: We work alongside existing clinical care, not instead of it. 2. Evidence-based: Our protocols are informed by peer-reviewed research on HBOT applications. 3. Clinically governed: We screen for contraindications, coordinate with referring clinicians, and operate within regulatory safety parameters.
